Holiday Eating and a Gluten Free Diet

Passover and Easter were just here  and if you are new to having a gluten free diet, it  may have posed a problem.  There are many wonderful sites online that have delicious holiday menus that are gluten free that your entire family would enjoy.

Glutenfreeda.com is an online cooking magazine dedicated to gluten free cooking and has numerous gluten free recipes for any occasion.  This online magazine has been serving people with Celiac Disease, Gluten and Wheat intolerance since 1999.  (http://www.glutenfreeda.com/mar08-easter.asp)

Just one Brunch line up of recipes includes:

  • Cinnamon Popovers
  • Fresh Fruit Platter
  • Three Cheese Eggs with Roasted Peppers
  • Herb Crusted Rib Roast
  • Scalloped Potatoes with Gruyere
  • Pancake Soufflés with Apple Compote & Bourbon Pecan Butter
  • Carrot Cake with Flax & Cream Cheese Frosting

But they also have many more!

Another great site for collecting recipes for a Gluten Free Easter Dinner is GFE – Gluten Free Easily at http://glutenfreeeasily.com/.  I love this site because of the many pictures they use to show progression in the cooking of gluten free recipes.  If you are traveling to family for any occasion this year and they are aware of your special dietary needs,  these are a couple great sites you can direct them to for recipes, or you can bring a few dishes of your  own to share.

Believe it or not Betty Crocker has gotten into the Gluten Free business as well. Check out some of their new mixes. Happy Spring! Betty Crocker Gluten Free Devil’s Food Cake
