I read this post with great interest, as I am living at Scotland. Many people like me, must have seen these castles, but staying in them will be a majestic experience.

My family originally came from Scotland. I'm working on a family tree and I really need to visit the town where my great-great-grandparents were from. While I'm there I'll be taking in the sights and loading up on pictures. A few of my relatives are helping me with expenses and I don't want to let them down. Thanks for all of the suggestions. I will be looking up a castle or 2 while I'm there.

I would never have traveled to Italy on my own, but my grandma just asked me if I would go with her. She doesn't enjoy traveling by herself and sometimes she needs a little help with things. She will be paying all of the expenses. How could I have possibly turned that down?

Rarely do you find anything that is worth the price you have to pay to get it. First class is a prime example. I don't think it's worth what they ask for it, but, it's the only way I travel. I'm a nervous kind of person and I don't have a lot of people skills. I do better sitting in the quiet of first class, reading a book or watching a movie.

My sister travels a lot, me, almost never. She is going to Paris in August and has asked me to go along. I'm thinking this would be a great trip to share with her. She was bit by the wanderlust bug in college and has travelled all over the world. Sometimes I envy that, but I'm truly a home body. It's hard to tell we're related. We don't look anything alike either. But, we are close, and I'm looking forward to this trip.

I teach high school geography and I always take a trip with my students in the last month of school. Only those students with a B or better average are allowed to take the trip. You would be amazed at the kids who are able to keep this grade up even when other classes are c or below. I have never been to South Africa, but I would love to make the trip. I wonder how the kids would react to the chance to go on a safari? I bet I have the highest grades in the school. We'll have to plan for the trip all year and make sure passports are in place. Several fund raisers throughout the year will pay for most of the trip. I can hardly wait for the first day of school to let the kids know what our destination is.

I very seldom get the chance to fly, but when I do, I always go first class. I'm sort of afraid of heights and the calm of the first class cabin keeps me calm too. My sister tells me that's just an excuse, but it really is the truth.

I'm just starting my sophomore year of college and my oldest brother just graduated. He such a smarty pants. He sent me a card telling me he was going to be taking my vacation. It's a long standing family joke since my name is Sydney and I was actually named for that town in Australia. My Dad spent some time there when he was on R&R from the service. He fell in love with the area and vowed to name one of his girls Sydney. My brother just received word that he'll be working in a hotel right in the heart of Sydney. I'm kind of jealous that he gets to go before me, but in the pecking order of family, he got through with his education first. My time will come.

My Mom grew up in Paris and still has relatives living in and around the city. We go back every 2 or 3 years and love every minute of the time we have there. It helps to have our own 'travel guide'! I'm sure that we have seen all of the tourist attractions, but we have seen and enjoyed a lot more than that. You have some great suggestions listed.

I've been to South Africa a number of times and find it a very enjoyable place to visit. The people are friendly and genuinely glad to have you in their country. I'm sure I'll go back again and would recommend this trip to any age person.
